In the Caribbean, most ecotourism is focused either on exploring the interiors of certain, sometimes mountainous, destinations, or the coastlines of many islands. Activities of the first type include hiking; horseback riding; river rafting; swimming in waterfall pools; ATV rides; tropical canopy tours by zip line; and mountain climbing and rappelling. For the second, activities include sea kayaking, especially along coastlines; snorkeling and diving; bird watching; catch and release sport fishing; windsurfing; and dolphin and whale watching.
